What a 20kVA solar system can carry

Large 5-bedroom duplex or small three-phase building running 4 or more ACs.

    Air Conditioning

4 units (1.5HP) together in the day, 2 at night

Three inverters share the load, and on a three-phase supply each one carries a phase.

    Refrigeration

2 fridges and 2 freezers around the clock

    Lighting

Full property lighting including outdoor and security lights

    Fans

    All

    TVs & Devices

Whole-house TVs, laptops and network equipment

    Water Pump

    1–1.5HP borehole pump: yes

    Washing Machine

    Yes, several loads a day

    Not recommended

Large three-phase motors or welding equipment.

How long the battery lasts at night

    30kWh battery (InfraSol Home 18)

At a typical night-time load of 4kW (2 ACs, fridges and security lights), the 30kWh battery runs for about 6.8 hours. The cheaper version's 20kWh runs for about 4.5 hours.

    60kWh battery (InfraSol Business 24)

At a typical night-time load of 6kW (chillers, CCTV, security lights and 1–2 ACs), the 60kWh battery runs for about 9 hours. The cheaper version's 45kWh runs for about 6.8 hours.

Who a 20kVA system is for

We build this size two ways. Home 18 uses three Growatt 6kW inverters, which suits a large duplex or a small building on a three-phase supply, one inverter per phase. Business 24 uses two SRNE 12kW inverters for offices, clinics, shops and restaurants that run a 20kVA generator through the working day.

At this scale the case for solar is mostly about daytime load, because that is when a business draws most of its power and when the panels produce. Both systems also come in a cheaper version with fewer panels and less battery, which can be topped up later.

What it saves, and when it pays for itself

Monthly savings against what Lagos homes and businesses pay today for grid and diesel. The middle figure is our base case; the range runs from a Band A home to a site with little grid supply.

    Pay small small: payment plans

Lease-to-Own: 30% down, the balance over 3 monthly payments, and the system is yours at the end. On the ₦13.6M system that is ₦4,074,900 down and 3 payments of ₦3,361,402.

Energy as a Service: nothing upfront. A flat monthly fee of 50–60% of what you spend on power today, and we own and maintain the system.
